I’ve Got A Lovely Bunch Of Coconutsĭepending on your choice of difficulty you may or may not start with a small inflatable raft that you can row between islands, but you’re otherwise on your own and need to craft and find the tools you need to survive.Įach map is randomly generated with a set of islands and the islands themselves are random. ![]() You may, for example, disable snakes and sharks, play with permadeath or even tinker with generating your own island. However, Stranded Deep does feature difficulty settings and some customizable options for you to tinker with. Hunger, thirst, deadly animals, and even the sun itself threatens your life. Resources on each island are scarce, so using a raft to move between them is a necessity. A clustered set of tropical islands is a neat setting. Your only refuge is a series of randomly generated tropical islands that you must travel between to keep yourself alive. The console versions of the game have an ending that the PC version lacks and it’s being sold as a finished product on consoles.Īt the same time, the console version flat out doesn’t have quite a few features that the PC version does. Once all of the prerequisite materials have been obtained, players can craft a shelter in the crafting menu. Alternatively, players can instead find lashing in shipwrecks or wood containers that can be found across throughout the game. These trees are known for their fibrous leaves, so this is the best way to get the material to create some lashing on short notice. The players need to gather 4 fibrous leaves to create a single lashing, so players are advised to head towards the nearest yucca tree so they can use their ax or knife on it. ![]() Lashing is arguably one of the more important crafting items to make in the game since it is used in several recipes, but all the shelters require is one. Be sure to collect that as it can be used to craft a lashing later on. If the tree the player whacked was a palm sapling, it is possible that it may drop a fibrous leaf. When this palm tree is felled, players can head near the top of said tree to begin whacking at its leafy part to get some fronds. Palm fronds are similarly very easy to find if players can chop down a nearby palm tree. Wood sticks are the easiest to find since they can be found lying out in the open on islands, but they can also be obtained if the player cuts wood logs or driftwood piles. It requires 3 wood sticks, 4 palm fronds, and 1 lashing. The recipe for a shelter is simple enough. This makes building a shelter extremely important for anyone who wants to continually save their progress. The game's emphasis on survival tactics is obvious, so it shouldn't be too surprising that the game ties its save mechanic with a survival construct. Instead of relying on a conventional saving system where players can save their progress in a pause menu, players will need to gain access to a resting place like a sleeping bag or shelter to save their game.
